Wednesday is a free public-utility app. There are no accounts, no ads, no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and no tracking across apps or websites. You can browse and search the entire app without giving us anything.

What stays on your device

Your watchlist and your display name are stored only on your phone (local storage). They never leave the device unless you turn on weekly alerts.

What we receive — only if you enable Wednesday-morning alerts

To send the one weekly digest of your watched items going half-price, the app registers, against an anonymous random device identifier:
  • that anonymous device ID (a random UUID — not your Apple ID, phone number, or anything that identifies you),
  • the product IDs on your watchlist, and
  • an Expo push token so Apple's notification service can deliver the alert.
That is the complete list. We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, photos, or device analytics. This data is used solely to send the weekly alert — never sold, never shared, never used to advertise.

Turning it off / deleting your data

Switch "Wednesday alerts" off in the app and the device stops receiving pushes. Clearing your watchlist removes the product IDs. A device record that hasn't synced for 60 days is automatically deleted.

Where the price data comes from

Wednesday shows publicly available grocery pricing — the same specials Coles and Woolworths publish on their public websites and weekly catalogues. It is factual price data, shown under nominative fair use to help shoppers find deals. Wednesday is an independent app, not affiliated with or endorsed by Coles or Woolworths, and accesses no account-gated data. Coles catalogue data is sourced in part via the open-source hotprices.org project (Javex/hotprices-au, MIT-licensed). Prices can change or be wrong — always confirm in-store.
